Privacy First
Private By Design: 100% On-Device AI
Your private home life belongs to you alone. Fesi was engineered from line one with zero cloud uploads, zero remote servers, and zero data tracking.
Entity: Ruth Technologies, LLC
Effective Date: September 18, 2026
Architecture: Local Device Hardware Only
Our Privacy Manifesto
At Ruth Technologies, LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), we fundamentally reject the trend of turning your living room into training data or advertising fodder. When you watch movies, games, or videos with your family, your reactions, laughter, conversations, and camera feed should never leave your physical device.
Fesi is built upon a strict zero-cloud architecture. All computer vision models, acoustic spike detection, and circular video buffers operate 100% locally on your phone's processor. We do not have servers receiving your video streams, we do not require account creation, and we never collect or monetize personal data.
Summary in Plain English: Fesi does not upload your video or audio anywhere. Everything happens directly inside your phone's memory. When you save a clip, it stays on your phone until you choose to share it yourself.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Because Fesi functions entirely on-device, our data collection footprint is zero. Specifically:
-
No User Accounts: You do not need to register, log in, or provide an email, phone number, or social media profile to use Fesi.
-
No Video or Audio Transmission: Camera frames and microphone audio streams are processed in local volatile RAM and are never uploaded, streamed, or relayed to external servers.
-
No Analytics or Tracking SDKs: We do not include third-party tracking frameworks, advertising identifiers (IDFA or Google Advertising ID), or telemetry tools that profile your device or watch habits.
-
No AI Training On Your Content: Your facial expressions, audio reactions, and saved clips are never harvested or used to train public or private machine learning models.
2. Device Permissions & Local Hardware Use
To detect genuine human reactions in real time, Fesi requests permission to access specific hardware capabilities on your phone:
-
Camera Access: The front camera is accessed exclusively while reaction mode is active. Visual landmark analysis runs in local memory to detect facial expressions (such as eyebrow raises, open-mouth surprise, and smiles). Camera frames are held temporarily in volatile memory and discarded continuously unless a reaction threshold is met.
-
Microphone Access: The microphone is monitored in real time during active capture sessions to classify acoustic spikes (such as cheers, gasps, laughter, or screams). Audio data is analyzed strictly on-device; if no reaction occurs, the buffer is wiped.
-
Photo Library / Storage Access: Requested only when you tap the Export button to save a reaction clip directly to your device camera roll. Fesi never scans, reads, or indexes your existing photos or videos.
-
Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / Fingerprint): Used solely through Apple's LocalAuthentication or Android's BiometricPrompt to secure your private Highlights Vault. Biometric verification is executed entirely inside your phone's Secure Enclave or hardware security module; Fesi never accesses or stores your biometric credentials.
-
Siri & Voice Assistant (iOS): Enables hands-free activation using voice phrases (such as "Hey Siri, start reaction mode in Fesi"). Speech processing is handled natively by Apple's operating system.
3. The 2-Second Rolling Buffer Lifecycle
To ensure every captured reaction includes the suspenseful buildup, Fesi maintains a circular first-in, first-out (FIFO) buffer in volatile RAM:
-
Volatile Memory Only: Buffer chunks exist strictly in temporary RAM and are never written to permanent disk storage while waiting for a reaction.
-
Automatic Overwriting: Buffer frames older than two seconds are continuously overwritten and destroyed in memory.
-
Instant Purge On Exit: Closing the Fesi app, switching apps, or locking your device instantly purges all volatile memory buffers.
4. Data Storage, Retention & Deletion
All clips captured by Fesi are stored exclusively inside the app's sandboxed local container on your physical device:
-
Deleting Clips: When you delete a clip within your Fesi library, it is immediately and permanently unlinked from your physical storage.
-
App Uninstallation: If you uninstall Fesi from your device, all unexported reaction clips stored in Fesi's local container are completely removed by the operating system.
-
No Cloud Backups By Us: Because we do not run user databases, we cannot restore deleted clips. If you wish to back up your clips, you can export them to your personal Photos app or cloud service of your choice.
5. In-App Subscriptions & Payment Processing
Optional subscriptions (such as Fesi Pro) are processed directly through Apple StoreKit on iOS or Google Play Billing on Android.
Payment processing, card verification, and recurring billing are managed entirely by Apple Inc. or Google LLC in accordance with their respective privacy policies. Ruth Technologies, LLC never receives, handles, or stores your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
Fesi does not collect or transmit personal information from any user, including children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). Because all detection and storage are strictly local to the user's physical device, Fesi complies inherently with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K), and applicable international child safety standards.
7. Regional Privacy Rights (CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, CalOPPA)
We fully uphold data privacy rights under California law (CCPA/CPRA), European data protection law (GDPR), and other regional privacy statutes:
- No Sale or Sharing of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, nor do we share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Know & Delete: Because Fesi does not collect or retain personal information or account profiles on any remote server, there is no centralized personal record to retrieve, transfer, or delete. You retain 100% control over your data directly on your device.
8. Policy Updates & Contacting Us
If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will publish the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.
